What I do

Collaboration

In constantly improving my practices of mindfulness and radical empathy, I have grown adept at rapidly understanding my teammates as well as their perspectives, strengths, and weaknesses. This has given me multiple opportunities to work together in order to take charge of responsibilities, ask for help when necessary, and help my teammates when they have needed help.

Design

My attention to detail has always led my curiosity to the intersection of design and implementation. Previous experiences have required me to provide visual and/or functional solutions for different individuals or organizations. As a result, I have become quite capable in the creation of new ideas, as well as the processes necessary for bringing those ideas to life in code.

Development

In many areas of my life, I have become skilled in the art of making something from nothing, and this holds especially true for my journey in web development. I enjoy working on projects that challenge my abilities to apply my accrued knowledge, provide me more opportunities to learn, and keep me engaged from start to finish.

Who I am

Developer seeking a new challenge

Hello! If you're reading this, you may be interested about who I am! My name is Mark Hong, and I am a person who has worn many hats, becoming a quick learner in the process. After exploring and understanding myself further, I have put the majority of my focus and attention on development and design to make things work consistently, and I use my background in visual arts to make things look great.

For me, being a full-stack developer marries both of these subjects of development and design together— it excites me to work on projects where I can help assemble the form and function to match the project's goals. Beyond this, I have a strong interest in user experience after working with clients and gaining their feedback on software, particularly in performance and ease of use. That interest drives a lot of my own considerations when going about implementing and improving upon project designs.
